Careers at Umai Sushi
We are a small team running a 43-seat dining room under handmade cherry blossoms in North Nanaimo. If you care about good food and making guests feel at home, we would like to hear from you.
This page is for general applications. It does not mean a specific position is open right now. Management reviews applications when the team needs help.
Where you could fit
Front of house
Welcoming guests, looking after the dining room, answering the phone, and helping pickup guests at the counter.
Kitchen
Prep, sushi and hot-kitchen cooking, dishwashing, and keeping a small kitchen clean and organized.
How to apply
Email johnpark@umaisushi.ca with the subject “Application: Umai Sushi careers” and attach your resume as a PDF. In your email, please include:
- The role you are interested in: front of house, kitchen, or both.
- Your availability: days, lunch or dinner shifts, and when you could start.
- Any relevant experience, in a restaurant or elsewhere.
- Your name, phone number, and email address.
Your privacy
- Management uses applications only for recruitment at Umai Sushi.
- Please do not send your SIN, banking details, government ID, or medical information with your application.
- To have your application deleted, email johnpark@umaisushi.ca and ask us to delete it.
